Considered one of the best chefs in the world, Berasategui is a mastermind of contemporary cuisine. He is constantly caught up in the creation of new dishes and flavors. Having practically lived in kitchens since the tender age of 13, he started out at the family business where he became the head chef at only 21 years old. Five years later he received his first Michelin star.
In 1993 he opened Restaurante Martín Berasategui, which got a Michelin star one year later, another in 1996 and a third in 2001. This restaurant is in the top 30 across the globe. This year it has been named Best Fine Dining Restaurant in the world by TripAdvisor users in the Travellers’ Choice Awards 2015. Berasategui will participate in the ninth edition of the European Ecommerce Conference 2015.
In addition, his vast experience has brought him many awards, including Spanish Pastry Chef of the Year, Best Creative Dish, Best Spanish Chef of 1996 and the San Sebastian Golden Drum, no doubt the most delightful of all. But it was the Grand Prix de l’Art de la Cuisine that situated him as one of the most famous chefs in the world and the best Spanish chef in the most prestigious travel guides. In 2011 he became the only chef with seven Michelin stars in Spain. He currently directs 10 restaurants.
